Do not adjust your mind, there is a fault in reality

Found this in a drawer today.  Brings back memories of the old days of cyberspace!

  1. Hi Thilo, as someone who didn’t grow up in the UK, you probably don’t know that this is a play on the phrase that used to appear on the TV when there was a problem with the general transmitter. It used to say ‘Do not adjust your set. There is a fault.’ – so we got used to the idea that there was no point in twiddling knobs to try to get the picture back or whatever, but we just had to wait until the powers-that-be (ie the BBC) had fixed it. Transfer that to this quote, and you get the idea that if something doesn’t seem right, it might not be a problem with you, but with ‘reality’.. It doesn’t mean anything really, but is generally amusing I think!
