Last month I was appointed as a Visiting Fellow in The Media School at Bournemouth University. This is a great opportunity to work with some very interesting people and I’m delighted that Dr Bronwen Thomas of the Centre for Journalism and Communication Research has asked me to talk about my new book and lead a workshop on future foresight.

I feel very strongly about the fact that academics are expert in the history of their discipline but seldom asked to predict its future. So I’m going to run a workshop on the skills of Future Foresight – what it is and how to do it – in order to stimulate ideas for ways to apply Future Foresight to individual subject areas and maybe even get some grant funding for it.

It takes place this week at Bournemouth University, 2pm on Wednesday 13 November 2013. Click here for more information.
